With this guide, I’ll show you how to add Google Analytics to your WordPress site or blog.

First things first though, you’ll need to create yourself a Google Analytics account. To do this, just visit the Google Analytics Signup Page.

Click ”Sign Up” in the top right corner and select Google Analytics, and create an account.

Once you’ve signed up and added your website, you will be given a Google Analytics Tracking ID. Highlight the Tracking ID and copy.

Now we need to navigate to your WordPress Dashboard —> Plugins —> Add New, and search for ”Google Analytics”, and install and activate.

Once Google Analytics has been activated, select ”Settings” from your Dashboard and click ”Google Analytics”. Now enter your Google Analytics ID into the box provided, and hit ”Save Settings”.

Head back over to your Google Analytics account, as you have now installed Google Analytics to your WordPress site.

Click on ”Reporting” to see your site Analytics overview, though you may find it takes Google up to 48 hours to deliver some awesome stats about your site.

Note – adding Google Analytics to your WordPress site that are free hosted WordPress sites, will not work.
